As of yesterday, it's official - I will be an OB/GYN resident at the University of Kansas for the next four years!
Basically, Match Day was even better than expected. It was so exciting to hear where everyone from our medical school class was matched. I'd have to say, I'm biased, but I think our class did very well for ourselves! My very close group of girlfriends all got their number one choice from their rank lists. We also celebrated the birth of my friend Jes' baby, Natalee Diane. She will share her birthday with Laura! It was a day full of laughing, smiling, eating and drinking - there was just so much to celebrate. When Dann and I got home, we saw we had received our first wedding gift in the mail! I can't recall a more exciting, perfect day (maybe except for when we got engaged).
Another announcement - Dann and I are purchasing our first home together next week! We found our dream home earlier in February but could not close on the house until we found out if I would be training in Kansas City. Not only was KU my favorite program, but now we can close on our home next Wednesday! The house is great and needs some new decorating. I can't wait to post "before" and "after" pictures.
It will be a busy week of signing, packing and moving. Until then, I'll be cheering on the Jayhawks. Rock Chalk!
